Travel south along scenic Highway 1, viewing the emerald-green Monterey Bay from the beach and boardwalk town of Santa Cruz to the Monterey Peninsula. You'll have time to explore the historic, Spanish-colonial city of Monterey, including its Fisherman's Wharf and the famous Cannery Row, which was immortalized by author John Steinbeck.

While at Cannery Row, you will have the option of visiting the Monterey Bay Aquarium (admission included on this tour Tour 9B). This world-renowned aquarium is a living extension of Monterey Bay, which is at the heart of the largest national marine sanctuary in the United States. The exhibits feature more than 250,000 creatures and nearly 700 species of plants and animals from the waters of California's central coast. Among its exhibits are a threestory living kelp forest, a Monterey Bay Habitats exhibit with large sharks and schooling fishes, a two-story sea otter exhibit, a walk-through aviary and nearly 200 smaller exhibits and galleries devoted to the varied habitats around the bay.

Departing Monterey, you'll take the world-famous 17-Mile Drive from Pacific Grove - with photo stops at the Lone Cypress , Pebble Beach, and the storybook village of Carmel. Here you'll have time to browse the charming galleries, boutiques and shops of this one-square-mile town.
